From "kapit" to 2-peat

The reason I was sleep-deprived for a good three days- finally paid off. :)

Our research, "Palawan Holothuria scabra (Fam. Holothuriidae) Body Wall Characterization and Extract Fractionation for Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activity Determination" aka The Sea Cucumber Project, won yesterday at the 7th Natural Products Analysis Conference. Best Visual Presentation, and 1st Place Best Presentation! Nakakataba ng puso. You know how you've given your all to the point of sacrificing sleep and creative juices and.. just everything, everything you've got and here comes the rewards. You truly reap what you sow.

Jack, Zad, thank you for translating with me our semester-long research into a 10-minute, heavily animated presentation that (we hope!) everyone can easily understand. Alexa and ate Candy, thanks for the amazing graphics. Luis for the script (and thanks for putting up with me pressuring you to do it asap since the presentation depends on your output hehehe). Ryan for supervising everything, and patiently working in and outside class hours, overtime, just to finish the lab work. Rain (who's not even our classmate HAHAHA) and Sab for letting us stay in their places to work for two separate nights. Rosewynn and Sab again for the free dinners. And to us, to everyone who did the lab work together, authenticated our sample, analyzed and interpreted data, basically everything... I love you guys :(((

Flashback to last year. (The cheese balls look funny HAHAHAHA but yep that's our prize. Meep.)

We also won Best Visuals and 1st Place Best Presentation. :) Our study back then was smaller, which was "Determination of Antioxidant Activity of the Fractions of Euphorbia hirta L. (Fam. Euphorbiaceae) Leaves through Quantitative DPPH-TLC" and took just about a month.

The 136-137 Pharmaceutical Analysis series has been a rollercoaster ride. It had its ups and downs but in the end.. it was ALL worth it, I guess. :)
